Installation

For Maya 2022+ to successfully install the tool, make sure that security is disabled in Maya’s preferences.

Drag and drop the file DragAndDrop_Install_Trail.py into Maya’s viewport. A yellow button labeled aTrail will appear on the current shelf tab.

Instructions:

• Select a control.

• Select a time range on the timeline (if you need a range shorter than the current timeline span).

• Single click creates a motion trail.

• Double click creates a motion trail with an offset.

• Clicking again removes the trail.

(For proper motion trail display, disable Cached Playback)

Choosing Trail Visualization:

Right-click on the button to open a context menu:

• Style

• Color

• Dots

• Fade

Use this menu to customize the trail to your liking.

Compatibility:

Works with Maya 2018+ on Windows and Mac.
